About Us! What is Detox?

It’s never to late, Break the Addiction..

Sub Acute Detox Center

For any addition, long-term recovery is the goal. However, there are hurdles to jump before a person can begin their journey down the road to long-term recovery. At Sprout Health California Detox, we can help you or a loved one take the next step toward sobriety by entering our sub-acute detox program. We offer the very best in treatment and support, because we know how delicately detox must be handled. The scale of an individual’s addiction and their length of time fighting addiction determines the type of detox program we enter them into. Inpatient or outpatient, we have a solution for every substance abuse addiction.

The Actual Detox Process

Our many years of experience has provided us with the knowledge and experience to deal with the symptoms and side effects of detoxification. We provide the exact medications and nutritional practices that can let the body work its way back to normal, and receive needed nutrients. Detox should always be managed by professional and qualified clinicians. Detox can be deadly if not done correctly. The addicted body craves is substance, and sudden withdrawal can be too much if brought on suddenly.

Detox starts with a thorough evaluation of our patient’s health. We can pinpoint their addiction and address any co-occurring mental illnesses at the same time.

Once the harmful chemicals have been successfully removed and a person is either in an inpatient, or outpatient program, we can then tailor their program to meet their exact needs. While detox helps our patients to stop using, counseling and therapy helps them to understand the nature of their addiction, and to work toward abstinence.

There are several symptoms of sub-acute detox, which can include insomnia, irritability, headaches, anxiety, restlessness, depression, an inability to concentrate, and social isolation to name a few.

As the Patient Progresses

We also find that employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, or an additional complementary therapy can be most beneficial in helping patients to understand their addiction; also, to avoid the triggers that can lead to relapse. Our treatment also places focus on their mental, spiritual, biological, and psychological recovery.

Follow-up programs can include individual, group, or family counseling. It is our experience that families can be totally effective in helping their loved one get back on the road to recovery, and to pursue abstinence with a passion. From every one of our professional staff members, we want you to know that our programs are designed to help clients break free of their addiction and to remain sober.

The Impact of Family Counseling

Families play an important role in health care treatment of their loved one. The goal of family therapy is to meet the needs of all family members. Families are interdependent; albeit that relationships can be complex. An addicted person, and their family, can benefit when that relationship is examined. Families learn more about addiction and its causes. The addicted individual learns more about the connection between their thinking, behavior, and how family members are affected. This can only be accomplished in a controlled environment where free communication is allowed and controlled. Changing one part of the family dynamic can work to solve solutions, or cause problems. This is yet another reason why family therapy is best managed in a professional clinical setting or by a qualified clinician.

What Addiction Does

Addiction creates changes in a person’s brain. It is abusing drugs and alcohol chronically that leads to addiction. Sometimes, removing toxic substances from the body “cold turkey” can be life-threatening. Such substances that need cautious oversight include alcohol, benzodiazepines, heroin and opioids (painkillers). This is the short list. There are many more that could be listed. The thing to remember is that all addictive substances, when removed, will cause withdrawal symptoms for the individual.

Purpose in Life

While the detox process helps a person to quit, therapy helps a person to cope with stressful situations and to avoid triggers. Therapy can also help our clients find a renewed purpose in life. There is something amazing to be said about “purpose.” It can give an addicted individual a reason to reach for sobriety.

At Sprout Health California Detox, we want you to partner with us if you or a loved one is suffering from an addiction. First, we can place you in detox and help rid your body of harmful drugs. Then, we can impart the therapy tools that will help you gain insights about your addiction, how to cope, and how to drug and alcohol free.
